Sometimes, even when you run anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, your pc can seem sluggish -- or seems to have an increasing number of errors or problems. We've used CCleaner with good results. Free Anti-Spyware Software

Currently, our favorite anti-spyware software packages include:

- Ad-aware

- Malwarebytes

- SUPERanti-spyware

- Spybot Search & Destroy.

You can download and install these packages from http://www.download.com. Some of these packages find spyware that the others don't -- so we usually recommend using at least 2 or 3 of these programs.

Separately, Spywareblaster is a good software package to run; it helps to make your system more secure.
